If you are just casual gaming, then it's not as bigger deal. Just something to consider depending on your main purpose for the monitor. Some gaming monitor extras which add to the cost, but can bentifit you more depending on your gaming uses. Flicker-free and Low Blue Backlighting (ideal for night/dark gaming to protect your eyes), etc. G-SYNC, FreeSYNC, or ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur).

TN use to be faster and more ideal for gaming purposes, but the IPS panel is catching up now and I would recommend more.

IPS panel is richer, brighter colours vs a TN panel. Latency is harder to calculate, but latency (or lag) is measured by the difference between the time there is a signal input, and the time it takes the input to display on the screen. Aim for at least 6ms or lower if using the monitor for gaming purposes. If it's not mentioned on the specs, then it's most likely higher. It's the time taking for pixels to change colour, etc. 60-75Hz is still fine, if you play slower pace. It's noticable when gaming in fast pased action such as first person shooters or racing, etc. 120/144Hz is consider high-end for gaming purpose. Higher refresh can display more frames per second and considered better. Would also be able to get those flick shots off a lot smoother in First Person Shooters. I could survive 8 hours of solid gaming on that, less eye strain and no blur/ghosting. The Acer Predator X34 monitor on the other hands has a 4ms response time and a latency of around 9.7 milliseconds. I personally would vomit gaming on that throughout the night for 8 hours straight and strain my eyes on the blur/ghosting. It's a multimedia display, not gaming monitor.

For TV / Movie purposes, not a major issue, however I wouldn't recommend that for gaming. This monitor would have around 12.8 ms input lag on average. LG 34uc88-B has a 14ms response time (5ms GTG is gray to gray, however I'm calculating the typical response which is black to white and back to black). Refresh rate Hz is one thing to consider, but then you also have response time / input lag for a monitor. Where you after curved or flat ultra-wide? They normally have gaming modes too, but again throws off colour/image quality.

LG and Samsung are more TV brand, they make terrible PC monitors with normally a colour off tint and slower refresh rate.

BenQ tends to do more professional gaming monitors, but not pixel perfection. The "BenQ XR3501" if you wanted the other end, for hardcore fast gaming, but less image quality/resolution. Great for work purposes, as well as some gaming. It has a gaming mode, but that throws off image quality. The "Dell UltraSharp U3415W" would be the best image for pixel perfection, but slower for gaming purposes. Not as sharp as the X34 and slightly green tint in the colour range. I think "Acer Predator XR341CK" is the FreeSYNC model of it? Haven't personally seen/tested it however. It's however G-SYNC (Nvidia), so you would be wasting a bit of money getting it for an AMD graphics card. Acer Predator X34 is the best gaming curved monitor, I personally know of.
